Emory University consistently attracts many of the nation's finest scholars to its campus.  These incredible students come to the University with amazing minds and impressive academic credentials. However, many of these students, while rich in talent and scholastic ability, lack the resources to finance an Emory education.

The Adopt-a-Scholar Program at Emory University provides much needed financial assistance to academically gifted but financially challenged students. It also provides donors with a way to honor their own time at Emory or someone close to them with a named scholarship. The program personalizes the giving experience for our Adopt-a-Scholar donors by providing the opportunity to cultivate personal relationships and become actively involved in the life of their adopted scholar.

Upon committing to the Adopt-a-Scholar Program, donors will receive an introduction to the student who will benefit from their generosity. The student will also receive a profile of the generous benefactor assisting with their education costs. Mentoring relationships between the donor and student are encouraged.

To adopt a scholar, donors commit to a minimum gift of $2,500 per year for each of their student's years at Emory – depending on the student's course of study. For those donors wishing to help a student with even greater financial need, an option exists to provide annual assistance at higher levels, up to the cost of a full year's tuition.

Becoming involved with the Adopt-a-Scholar Program is easy. Simply contact the Emory Office of Annual Giving to request additional information. Soon you'll embark on a wonderful and important relationship with one of Emory's bright new students.
